I would be very grateful for anybody's help. The situation is as follows:

This morning, out of the blue, I was unable to access my LinkStation Live 500Gb device via the web interface. I tried a number of things, but all of these failed. I eventually re-flashed the most recent firmware, and that has now restored full access to the device via the web interface.

The problem is that I am no longer able to access my data. The shares that I had set up on the device prior to the firmware update are no longer visible. However, it seems the data is still there as the NAS Navigator software reports that 11% of the disk is used (which is about what I would expect for the data I had stored on there).

I did not think that flashing the firmware would affect the data, which I thought was stored on a separate partition. Was I incorrect in this? Is there a way to regain access to old shares after a firmware update, or have I made a huge mistake and lost my data?

Very grateful for your help.
