Hi davy_gravy

Ive tried them all.

Sabnzbd works very nice, but did't give me enough speed on a lspro. Hella gave a bit more speed, but only nzbget gives me my full 20mbit line. It does max out your cpu.
The web interface (nzbgetweb) is pretty easy to install and works pretty fast. (see the NZBGET topic on howto install)

Thanks, appreciated. After building bitbake recipes for these things, it looks like nzbget is the only one not written in perl, thus the fastest of the three.

I guess that its drawback is that it needs php or mysql for the webif... but that is still OK.

:)

Don't think it needs mysql though, just installed lighthttpd/php.

Likewise... Sab is easier but without a shadow of doubt NZBget is best. SAB struggles to make 6-7Mbit but NZBget 20mbit at least....

I'm trying to obtain something located in the newsgroup alt.binaries.comp . I am using Xnews as my newsgroup program, but when I go to download all the headers for this group, there are 1million+. Xnews will starts to download them, but eventually hangs up the computer or I've gotten an 'out of memory' error. I wind up restarting the PC every time. I've tried using the filter feature to maybe only download headers with certain criteria, but I can't get it to work the way I want & filter properly. Does anybody have any suggestion on a better free newsgroup program I could use?
