I have a 250 that will not boot (six diag flashes after 5 minutes). I have taken it apart and connected to my PC. I have run Knoppix and fix_ext2_magic and am able to see /dev/hda1. I need to transfer all of my data files off. How can I get the files off the system? I can not access /dev/hda3. Please help.

This might be a stupid question, but did you mount the 3rd partition? Also, see http://buffalo.nas-central.org/Information/PPCLED for an LED analysis.

Unable to mount, file system unknown or unspecified

So add a "-t ext2" to the mount command.
Check if your kernel supports ext2/ext3: cat /proc/filesystems
