Have got a ls1 lying around that isnt being used at moment.I thought it would make a great candidate to put it to some good use as a media server for my xbox360. Currently i am using mediaplayer 11 on a windows box to do this service for me. Obviously the power requirements between the ls1 and my main pc are very different. All i want to be able to do with the ls1 is to transfer files to it across the lan and share them with the xbox360,s (2 of them).
Has anyone got any experience of doing this with the ls1, and more to the point would it be powerfull enough to stream divx movies etc across the lan to the xbox360,s.

I think the DLNA enabled UPNP-Server from my website should do the job. Give it a shot.

This sounds exactly what i need. I presume i would have to put a linux os on the ls1 first to be able to put ushare on it.Can you advise me of roughly how to get to the point of putting ushare on the ls1 or point me in the direction of the required information.

There already is a Linux on it, Buffalo chose Hard Hat Linux. You can flash our own custom firmware OpenLink and have both the web interface and shell access to the box. Be sure to read the instructions before flashing OpenLink!
