This is good. Does wget work? How much setup was invloved with codesourcery? Did you download and rebuild the source?

wget is working
Here is what I did on a Linux PC. (they also have a toolchain for windows)

1. Download without source (URL[/url:9ccb6])
2. Unpack. (I unpacked to /opt/crosstool/gcc-3.4.4-glibc-2.3.6/)
3. Get the wget source
4. Unpack wget
5. configure
./configure CC=/opt/crosstool/gcc-3.4.4-glibc-2.3.6/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc --host arm-none-linux-gnu --prefix ~/wget
6. make install

This will put wget into ~/wget/bin. I copied this over to the ls pro

Not having much luck here. this is what happens:

root@lapzone:/usr/src/wget-1.10.2# ./configure CC=/opt/arm/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/bin/gcc --build arm-none-linux-gnu
configure: configuring for GNU Wget 1.10.2
checking build system type... arm-none-linux-gnu
checking host system type... arm-none-linux-gnu
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for gcc... /opt/arm/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/bin/gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.

Need to set --host rather than --build
Also need to set prefix otherwise it will make and try to install into /usr/bin

Cheers for the push, got it working (been working on R2000A assembly all day so trying to get the right hat on). UI did the following:

./configure CC=/opt/arm/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc --host arm-none-linux-gnu --prefix ~/wget

Executable did not work. it built it as an i686 ELF and not ARM. Will have a look at what is wrong :(

A new day is great. Found the error of my ways and now wget is going. On to the next missing piece of the puzzle.

i recommend to share all the stuff everyone is able to compile in a central place.

http://buffalo.nas-central.org/download/uploads/LS_Pro_temporary/[/url:a40fa]

everyone can upload to there.

yuji, lb_worm...both of you already know how to upload
javascout, you have a private message with the user/pass/host to access the upload-folder in the downloadsection.

EDIT: i downloaded most of the codesourcery toolchain stuff (linux toolchain, windows toolchain, source of the toolchain) and i am uploading everything.

Got the debootstrap working. Have not got a switch or router where I am so can not test the download but the app runs which is a start.

Managed to reducec the list of processes running on the box. As I said before, I have extracted the kernel and initrd now.
