Background:
Recently, one of my WD 250GB hard drives crashed, and was replaced by a 500GB seagate (7200rpm, faster specs all around)

Current problem:
TS Pro read rates seem to be very slow. 1.5GB takes about 3 hours to transfer from the station, which comes out to about 130KB/sec read rate, whereas I was expecting at least 10x that much.

Interestingly, writing 1.5 GB to the Terastation (smaller files) only took 1 hour.

This problem may be unrelated to the fact that I have two different types of hard drives in the TeraStation (WD 250G, Seagate 500G), but I feel compelled to note this fact.

The slowness developed not long before the hard drive failure, but did not get resolved with the new hard drive. At the moment, I can't stream video from the TS.

One theory that I have is that another of the old drives is beginning to fail, but I haven't seen any warnings from the Terastation. Does it have a log that I can look at?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Could that be caused by a more general network problem (MTU; too many open connections for the router; ...)?
