LM12,

I believe you have encountered the new dynamic inode size issue. Please try my new U-Boot from http://sites.google.com/site/shihsung/l ... t-to-lenny. You don't have to flash it. Just try the ram build version with

tftp 81000000 192.168.1.100:u-boot-2009.06-hdhlan-ram.elf
bootelf 81000000

OK, I have officially run into that problem as well. It seems that with e2fsprogs 1.40.5, the default inode size of 128 bytes was increased to 256 bytes.

One way to get around the problem is to declare the inode size that the old uboot expects to find:

Code:
mkfs.ext3 -I 128 /dev/hda1

Of course, the revised uboot will be nice as well.

At some point I noticed that the package "ntp" is what kills my LS2. Once I replaced ntp with openntpd everything went smoothly. Don't know what ntp does that is able to "kill" the box, but now it's working without a hitch. I'm still right in the middle of transferring all data and restoring all configurations, but foonas-em is really handy for quick transfer and my data move is coming along well, just needs some time to transfer the ~250GB by Knoppix.

Thanks alot for the tip!

Can this be noted somewhere in the wiki? I've had a hard time yesterday and today trying to get a stable build on my LS2 .. was scratching my head and start reading this thread from page 1 .. I've thought the kernel causes the problem .. guess I'll try to upgrade to lenny now ..

wiraone, after installing uboot, (lni's is the one many used- since 2007, also shihsung has one that a few of us have tested),
you can try putting on the lenny tarball I mention in shihsung's original thread (page 5)...
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=20753&start=60

note that the newest kernel upgrade package is the v8... the v2 has a problem w/ a bad staging driver accidentally thrown in...

U-boot flash successful but I forgot to backup my LS HDH300LAN's mtd1(bootloader).

Is there anyway to remove u-boot from my machine?

I have tried to reflash the firmimg.bin but it didn't contain the initrd.

----

Now I set flboot for default.
Temporary solved ~"~
