Well this is good to know! :)

This is the kind of info I need, I guess. So you use Samba?

I get any were between about 3-6MB/sec on the LS2, using NFS. As these units have a mipsel (which may be more suited to routers than to NAS) this is not surprising. Still very usable for some applications such as music streaming, print servers, low-bandwidth NAS devices.

I am working now on that 2.6.23.17 kernel + module package. I will look into getting headers packaged, as well. I will post back when all is packaged and ready. :)

OK, Bauldrick, done, I think... :)

I'd keep a copy of your original kernel + modules, just in case...'

kernel_and_modules_for_lsmipsel_dg_v1-2.6.23.17.tar.gz

Torrents (lsmipsel ones) tracked by linuxtracker.org :
http://linuxtracker.org/index.php?page=torrents&search=mipsel&category=0&active=0&tracker=0

Still working on getting the headers packaged up...

Many tanks to you for working this out!

I´d like to make some additional suggestions for the kernel config for the next builds:

- Disable the serial console, otherwise avr_evtd will work properly (button presses will freeze the box, at least this was the case with 2.6.22)
CONFIG_SERIAL_8250_CONSOLE=y
- FUSE Support would be nice
CONFIG_FUSE_FS=m
- also, some guys may want to play with iSCSI (not me)
CONFIG_SCSI_ISCSI_ATTRS=m
CONFIG_ISCSI_TCP=m

If you´ve a download location for the source, please let me know!

Weini, there is no special source, but rather a patch I came up with, based on LNI's patch file. Once I get access to the downloads again I can put the patch up.

Can you explain a bit more to me about the serial 8250 config? I'm not sure I understand what you are saying about it.

My power off and restart button seems to be working O.K with 23.17 - can't quite remember if that was the problem last time?

Did you manage to sort the headers out Davy_? :p

I'm pretty sure that I still have the /build/tmp dir w/ the work in it...

I need to find out how to neatly sort out all of the "good stuff" in the source, ie. to clean it up into a tidy tarball that just needs to be installed.

Know of any primers on this? :?:

Well, here at least is the raw source via torrent... served up by my LS1 running foonas & Transmission 1.40 :)
