Linux 2.6/PPC kernels for Linkstation/KuroBox/HG/HS are available from http://hvkls.dyndns.org/. See the Changelog for details (MSIE > 5.5 is problematic).

PLEASE use the webinstaller to download or install the kernel package, including its variants. Anyone violating the server policy risks to be denied service, if necessary permanently. Thanks for your cooperation!

Hi, I've tried to update to this Kernel but when I log on to my ls it shows the old 2.6.25.9 Kernel and the folder for the modules also shows 2.6.25.9.
Thanks
David

I tried to run iotop on my HG, but I got the error:

Could not run iotop as some of the requirements are not met:
- Python >= 2.5 for AF_NETLINK support: Found
- Linux >= 2.6.20 with I/O accounting support: Not found

Any chance of getting IO accounting in the next version?

Thanks!

Koen

This one?

Support for tracing block io actions (BLK_DEV_IO_TRACE)

Back from vacation, I have noticed I had forgotten to apply the .10 patch! Sorry, this mistake will be corrected soon.

No, I think it's CONFIG_TASK_IO_ACCOUNTING.

Thanks!

This option does not seem to exist any more, as of 2.6.25.11.

That seems weird. On my i386, if I do 'make menuconfig', it's in
General Setup
Export task/process statistics through netlink
Enable extended accounting over taskstats
Enable per-task storage I/O accounting

Is only the last one missing in 2.6.25.11?

Koen

andre, first, thanks for the continued rolling of good PPC kernels for the {Open|Free}Link-ers of the community ...

This is a bit off topic, but I notice your documentation (module list, in particular) is so complete. Do you have an automated system for all of that? A script you've developed? Is there an easy way to gather the information on the modules - I see you have both overview and detailed lists... ?

... maybe you manipulate
Code:
modprobe -l
somehow ?

I'm working at bringing the feature set of the armel-ish kernel&modules that I roll up to the level you have ... I was feeling good about having about 380 modules... but now I see you have around 919. Well, I will work at getting my config widened a bit more.

modprobe -l | sed -e 's/^.*\/\(.*\).ko/\1/' | sort > listofmodules-overview_${KERNELMAJOR}.${KERNELMINOR}-${flavor}-v${MYREVISION}.txt

modprobe -l | sed -e 's/^.*\/\(.*\).ko/\1/' | sort | while read -r MOD; do modinfo "${MOD}" >> listofmodules-detailed_${KERNELMAJOR}.${KERNELMINOR}-${flavor}-v${MYREVISION}.txt ; done
