Here comes the result

The kernel compiled fine with the usual warning:

MODPOST vmlinux
WARNING: arch/ppc/platforms/built-in.o(.text+0xa0): Section mismatch: reference to .init.text: (between 'sandpoint_calibrate_decr' and 'BuffaloInitUart')

but then I get

Building modules, stage 2.
MODPOST 796 modules
ERROR: "kernevnt_RadiRecovery" [drivers/md/md-mod.ko] undefined!
ERROR: "kernevnt_RadiDegraded" [drivers/md/md-mod.ko] undefined!
ERROR: "__udivdi3" [drivers/md/md-mod.ko] undefined!
make[1]: *** [__modpost] Error 1
make: *** [modules] Error 2

About the section mismatch, it's present since a long time and I don't really know if it can leads to problems ! And I was unable to find informations about that ... If anyone can help ;)
About the kernevnt functions, this is caused by the fact that you are compiling most md (RAID & LVM support) as modules. Anyway I solved that by exporting symbols in the kernevnt driver !
The __divdi3 error is strange ... Maybe it will desapear now that other undefined symbols are ok ...
Thanks for testing ;)

could you send me an email with your .config ? I'll check what's wrong ...
snatcher93 at rocketmail \dot/ com
I checked on ARM arch and I had the same error than you about the "kernevnt*" undefined symbols and I fixed it so I thought that it should be ok (unless I forgot to commit changes ...)

Thanks ;)

great :)
I'm going to move files into a subfolder, please don't svn update until it's finished (will tell) ;)
edit : done ! svn update should move the files in the linux-2.6.22 ;) I'll remove the "buffalo UPS" driver from ppc config as it have not be designed to run on ppc devices ...

2.6.23 kernel port have been uploaded to svn :
Code:
svn co https://linkstationwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/linkstationwiki/kernel_universal/linux-2.6.23/

You can browse it using : http://linkstationwiki.svn.sourceforge. ... ux-2.6.23/

Hi Sylver,
thanks for the work. I could not compile the kernel.
When I choose raid to be compiled into the kernel I get the following error:
Code:
  LD      .tmp_vmlinux1
drivers/built-in.o: In function `md_seq_show':
md.c:(.text+0xa884c): undefined reference to `__udivdi3'
md.c:(.text+0xa8858): undefined reference to `__udivdi3'
make: *** [.tmp_vmlinux1] Error 1

It seems you know where there problem lies?

Hi igs,
it seems like I messed up with the previous correction of that problem (This 2.6.23 merge was not that simple ...). My previous correction is gone in the merging process ...

If you want a fast fix (ie : fix it yourself), then replace the followind code in drivers/md/md.c @ line 4871 :
Code:
#ifdef CONFIG_BUFFALO_PLATFORM
   db = mddev->currspeed;
   rt = (((max_blocks-resync) / (db/100+1)))/100;
#else
   db = (mddev->curr_mark_cnt - atomic_read(&mddev->recovery_active))
      - mddev->resync_mark_cnt;
   rt = (dt * ((unsigned long)(max_blocks-resync) / (db/2/100+1)))/100;
#endif

with
Code:
   db = (mddev->curr_mark_cnt - atomic_read(&mddev->recovery_active))
      - mddev->resync_mark_cnt;
   rt = (dt * ((unsigned long)(max_blocks-resync) / (db/2/100+1)))/100;
#endif

and @ line 4882 :
replace
Code:
#ifdef CONFIG_BUFFALO_PLATFORM
   seq_printf(seq, " speed=%uK/sec", mddev->currspeed);
#else
   seq_printf(seq, " speed=%ldK/sec", db/2/dt);
#endif

with
Code:
   seq_printf(seq, " speed=%ldK/sec", db/2/dt);

Or wait 6 or 7 hours so I can go home and commit the correction ("svn update" will resync the code then ;)

Well, I'll update the patch to be applyied on 2.6.24 kernel and I'll make sure that it's working on my TsP v1 and then I'll post some detailed instructions to explain how to install it ;)
So all I can tell is wait until I've done that (could be 2 weeks or 2 months, sorry I'm doing that on my free time)
