andre's package of mt-daapd relies on vorbis-tools in order to decode ogg on the LS2 for devices, which can't play ogg natively, like the Roku Soundbridge. However, the LS2 is not fast enough for the vorbis-tools to decode ogg in realtime, so playing ogg files on the soundbridge results in long buffering times, actually it's completely unusable.
I already started a thread in the firefly forum
. Please have a look at it. The author of mt-daapd is pointing me to a patched version of vorbis tools, called "ivorbis-tools" (i = integer) or "tremor" (the author of the patch). But I was unable to apply that patch, it always resulted in errors, even when I tried to use old versions.
Since mt-daapd comes in foonas, I hope one of the developers here can have a look at that patch and update it, so that it'll work with current versions of mt-daapd/vorbis-tools/libogg. Sorry, but I can't program in C.
It would be so great to see the patched version in foonas.
