as the version of wizd of the one linked above was compiled from CVS i think mine is quite recent.
the current version in CVS is called the same as the one i compiled.

give it a try.

it should work on all ppc-linkstations, terastations and kuroboxes.

Thanks. I have a mips linkstation. What are the odds it will work on that?

EDIT: I just looked at the README file that is contained in the tarball I downloaded from the link provided by rhoenie. Looks like this wizd is ver 0.12h. Several newer versions of wizd with incremental improvements have been made available by "flipflop"; the latest is v21 and it can be downloaded from http://wizd.sourceforge.net/ including source code (just in case you did not already know :)) Would it be possible to provide a version compiled for the Linkstation?

@netstar: i will setup a crosstoolchain for the LS2 (mips) now. i need it and i wanted to do this anyway. a cross toolchain is for compiling applications from one architecture (for a example a x86-workstation) to another architecture (in your case mips)....

if it works as expected i can provide the latest mldonkey-binaries for the LS2 as well.

Super! Thanks a lot.

EDIT: I tried the ppc version. It does not work. The error message I get is "cannot execute binary file"

It's working, I just alter the ppc package with the binary and libdvdread and a few paths etc... however it asks me for a passwd when starting wizd and doesnt start on boot :?

Maybe I'll send it to someone with more experiance than me to sort it out

Anyone?

Oh, and the options don't work like in the ppc one?

---EDIT----

that sounds crap doesn't it??

It works compiled on my machine...however the package I attempted to create has some faults (but works if you start it manually)

No no, anything is better than nothing... Could you please post or send me your partially working wizd binary executable for LS2? Actually I prefer to start the wizd server manually. Thanks.

You should be able to get it <HERE> on megaupload.

Download it and have a look inside, the binary is in /mnt/hda/opt/mediaserver/wizd and the config aswell.

I just put the wizd_012h_pvb21_mips.tar
into /
and did
tar -C / -xvf wizd_012h_pvb21_mips.tar
and was then able to just do
/etc/init.d/wizd start

and point browser to <LinkstationIP:8004> to test - hope it works :?

Hey, it works really well! The reason it asks for a passwd is because the /etc/init.d/wizd tries to run it as super-user root and needs a passwd to do so. You can either get rid of the su stuff in this file or just start wizd manually. BTW the wizd.conf file will need to be modified as well. Thanks a lot for supplying this.... great work!

the wizd-package can be downloaded from
http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a0025690/LS2_mips.html

direct link:
http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a0025690/mips-binaries/wizd_012h_pvb21_mips.tar

we need a working ipkg-feed for this!
i will create the tarballs with the ipkg-binaries for the LS1 + LS HG....i hope someone compiles the binary for the LS2....

then we only have to figure out how to create a working package....installing over ipkg is so much easier...
